Postmaster And Wife Arrested For Embezzlement

A Lufkin postmaster and his wife plead not guilty to embezzlement charges.

Pamela and Stanford Logan are accused of taking $85,000 from Pamela's elderly mother.The couple was arrested in Oklahoma Tuesday and released on bond.

Sixty-nine year-old Margie Allred of Moore, Oklahoma said after she was released from the hospital, family members discovered $30,000 missing from her account. Her house and truck titles were also placed in Stanford Logan's name.

Allred siad she gave her daughter, Pamela, power of attorney during an earlier illness.

The Logans said they'd planned to buy a bigger house for the elderly woman.

Stanford Logan is on personal leave until he's ready to go back to work at the post office. A spokesperson with the U.S. Postal Service says his office is looking into the allegations.
