Two Lufkin school facilities will get some improvements over the Christmas holidays.
Abe Martin Stadium and Coston Elementary both have problems with asbestos. Board members approved a bid to get rid of it.
During the December break, the floor tiling at Coston will be replaced. Thirty-year-old ceiling tiles in the dressing rooms at Abe Martin will also be removed.
School officials said students were never in danger, but environmental protection laws require them to take precautions.
Asbestos abatement for both locations will cost almost $22,000.
