Thanksgiving Travel Has Begun

East Texas law enforcement officers are getting ready for a busy week. Driving is the most popular way to travel for the Thanksgiving holiday.

More than 30 million drivers will hit the highway over the holiday weekend. High gas prices are not expected to keep many people off the road.

The National Safety Council predicts tens of thousands of injuries on U.S. highways over the holidays. Highway troopers and other law enforcement will be out in full force targeting speeders, drunk drivers, and folks not wearing seatbelts.
