Teens are Drinking Fewer Sodas

by Jessica Cervantez

In an effort to fight childhood obesity, the state has mandated ways to eliminate junk food at the school.

Soda machines are always a popular item during school hours, but reports are showing that soft drink sales are going down.

The principal at Lufkin High School says that is because the machines have all been removed from the cafeteria and are now outside in the plaza. Also, students can only buy soft drinks during certain hours. This is all in an effort to get the students to make healthier choices.
