Abitibi Spokesperson is in Intensive Care

The local spokesperson for the Abitibi paper mill in Lufkin is in intensive care. She fractured her skull in an accident over the weekend.

Debbie Johnston was at home Saturday morning getting Christmas decorations out of the attic when she fell through sheet rock in the roof and hit her head on the concrete floor of her garage.

Johnston's husband said she had surgery Monday morning at a Lufkin hospital to relieve some of the pressure in her skull. She's expected to be in the ICU for another couple days.

Johnston is Abitibi's public affairs director.
