New Technology at Memorial Hospital in Lufkin

A new type of state of the art technology is now being used at Memorial Health System in Lufkin. Doctors are using it to save lives.

By using the Internet, cardiologists working in Dallas can now help find heart defects in babies born here. No longer do parents have to make the trip to Dallas to get their baby seen by these experts. It is all done by computer.

Dale Hensen, the director of non-evasive cardiology, said they have been working on this project for about a year.

The technology is already being used six or seven times a week.
