Starting January 1, 2006, Medicare will offer prescription drug plans to help eligible seniors pay for prescriptions they need.
To get Medicare prescription drug coverage, seniors must choose and enroll in a Medicare prescription drug plan. Seniors may first enroll in a Medicare prescription drug plan from November 15, 2005 through May 15, 2006.
A series of Medicare Informational Seminars will be held in East Texas to help senior citizens better understand Medicare Part D.
The seminars will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the following dates:
*Tuesday, December 27th, Pitser Garrison Civic Center, Lufkin
*Wednesday, December 28th, Tyler Rose Garden Center, Tyler
*Thursday, December 29th, Marshall Civic Center, Marshall
These free informational seminars are open to the public and will provide attendees the opportunity to have questions answered by Medicare experts. Attendees will also have the opportunity to visit directly with representatives from various prescription drug plan providers and are encouraged to bring a list of mediations they are currently taking on a regular basis.
