Tentative Trial Date Set for Alleged Bank Robber

The trial date for an accused bank robber has been tentatively set. Forty-year-old Michael Ellis will have his day in federal court January 17th in Beaumont.

He reportedly walked into the Hibernia bank on South First Street in Lufkin with a note demanding money and claiming he had a bomb. Police arrested him just eight minutes after the robbery. If convicted, he faces up to 25 years in prison.
