Traffic should start to flow a little smoother on the Brentwood Drive and Daniel McCall overpass in Lufkin.
Friday morning, workers will begin installing an overhead signal across Hwy. 59, requiring traffic to be stopped as a safety precaution. The main lanes beneath the overpass will shut down for about half an hour starting at 10:00 a.m. Friday.
The new traffic signals will be temporary. The permanent ones should be in place within two weeks. The permanent signals will be equipped with video detection.
Remember, traffic fines double when workers are present.
