City of Lufkin Continues Fighting Centerpoint Energy's Rates

Lufkin city leaders are still trying to fight the high rates Centerpoint Energy is charging.

Tuesday the city commission will vote on whether Centerpoint's energy rates are invalid. This would mean they believe the company should no longer collect and charge the higher rates already in place.

The city believes Centerpoint Energy has not compiled the information needed to prove that a rate increase is necessary.

City Manager Paul Parker says he believes the issue will be headed to the courts.
