Salvation Army's Bell Ringer Kettle program has come to an end, but they have good news to report. The Salvation Army has exceeded their goal of raising $50,000.
The bell ringers raised $53,050. That money will stay here in Angelina County to help with purchasing Christmas gifts. Any leftover funds will go into next year's budget.
Salvation Army reps say it was a tough year but, because businesses like Wal-Mart let them start ringing 14 days earlier than normal, they were able to make their goal.
