UT students erupt in victory
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) _ Euphoric Texas students and fans spilled onto Austin streets to revel in the Longhorns' Rose Bowl victory. Seconds after Texas beat Southern California 41-to-38, the university lit the UT tower orange -- the traditional signal of victory on the campus. Many migrated to gather at the base of the University tower.
Once gathered they began singing "The Eyes of Texas," the school's alma mater. One fan dressed as the Longhorn mascot Bevo ran down Guadalupe Street, the main drag along campus. Police had barricaded parts of the street to make way for crowds spilling onto the street. Fans shouted chants of "Who's Reggie Bush?" and "Vince Young for President," referring to USC's Heisman Trophy winner and Texas' quarterback.
