President Bush is cheering anti-abortion marchers in Washington, telling them they're pursuing a "noble cause."Once again this year, the president phoned in his remarks to the annual "March for Life", which commemorates the anniversary of the Supreme Court's Roe versus Wade decision legalizing abortion. Bush says the marchers are devoted what he calls a "culture of life." He says the anti-abortion cause appeals to the American conscience -- and is rooted in American principles. And he says that cause will prevail. At the same time, Bush urged marchers to seek common ground "where possible" with Americans who support abortion rights. And he didn't mention the contentious role abortion's playing in the debate over his nomination of Judge Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court. Copyright 2006 Associated Press. All rights reserved.
