Police Want East Texans to Have a Safe Super Sunday

by Ramonica R. Jones

East Texas authorities are not planning to increase patrols on Super Bowl Sunday, but they do have safety advice.

There are parties planned all over East Texas this weekend and law enforcement will be on the lookout for drunk drivers and people breaking the law.

Lufkin police lieutenant, Greg Denman, said, "Super Bowl Sunday has become like New Year's Eve parties. They're big events and people need to keep in mind that after it's over with then they have to get home."

Many East Texas bars have arranged for a cab service to drive customers home on Super Bowl Sunday if they've had too much to drink.
