A strip center developer is getting help to keep a project alive in Nacogdoches. Plans for a strip center on seven and half acres across from Wal Mart have been in the works for a long time. City leaders heard the developer was considering ditching the project because of high costs. To keep the project going the city offered half of any new sales tax brought in because of the development. The cap is $330,000 over the next 7 years. It's still unclear what's being planned for the site, but annual sales are expected to be 12-14 million dollars.
