Laughter is the Key to Living

A humorous motivational speaker was the guest at this month's First Friday luncheon in Lufkin.

Jim Bob Solsbery is a former school teacher. He overcame a severe stuttering problem. He said being funny helped him get rid of his impediment.

Solsbery now has more than 25 years experience as a speaker. He believes everyone should be willing and ready to laugh at themselves, because life is easier that way.

Solsbery said, "Laughter is a God-given gift and sometimes it is important to get through these kinds of times. I just believe that a sense of humor is one of the most important things that we have."

Solsbery is a Texas Aggie and Vietnam veteran who started his career with the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
