Expo Focuses on Family

Some East Texans are now much better connected with local resources that can benefit their families.

The Family Frameworks Expo was held Tuesday in Lufkin. The event showcased area businesses, agencies, and organizations that serve parents and children. It's designed to be a learning experience.

Sheila Adams, Chamber Coalition for a Better Community, said, "It used to be a Parent University, but we've discovered that it's a lot easier for parents to bring their kids and come through and have booths [where] they can pick up information."

Parents learned how to properly buckle their child in a car seat and how to recognize drug paraphernalia and signs of drug use. The expo also featured a health fair sponsored by Memorial hospital in Lufkin.
