Most Wanted Surrenders

Shelby County is pleased that a sex offender who made it on America's Most Wanted is tonight in the Shelby County Jail. James Loomis went all the way to Durango, Colorado to avoid being put in jail for violating the terms of his probation. After being gone for almost a month Loomis came back to Center and turned himself into authorities Tuesday. Loomis, his girlfriend, Rachel Yarbrough, and her three small children went with him, along with Loomis' mother and stepfather.

The prosecutor said she never wanted to give Loomis probation in the first place. Shelby County District Attorney Lynda Kay Russell said, "I had my proof, but the guardian of the little girl that was molested did not want to go to court. They did not even want to do anything to this boy. He was 16 years old and was one day away from his 17th birthday when it happened."

James Loomis in now 21 in jail facing a possible life sentence. His girlfriend Rachel is in jail for endangering each of her three children and hindering apprehension. Her children are in foster care. Loomis' parents are out on bond after being charged with hindering an apprehension.
