East Texans Go to Jail for a Good Cause

Dozens of people were arrested Thursday in Lufkin, but not for breaking the law. It was all part of the Muscular Dystrophy Association's Annual Lock Up.

KTRE account executive, Matt Ellis, was one of about 90 people who signed up to wear stripes for a day.

Matt and the other MDA inmates made phone calls for bail money. All the money they raised goes to fight muscular related diseases and to buy wheelchairs and other items for patients.

Their goal was to help collect $60,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
