Spring break is here, but drivers may still see those flashing lights reminding them they're in a school zone. Those lights are on a timer and automatically come on at certain times of the day.
Some drivers are confused about whether or not they should obey the flashing lights, even when school is out.
Lufkin police lieutenant, Greg Denman, said, "Technically, the law states that whenever a school zone warning light is flashing then that school zone is active. So, regardless of whether school is in session or not, when that zone is active, then that school zone is an enforceable place."
