Fire Chief Resigns

by Jessica Cervantez

The City of Nacogdoches will immediately begin their search for a new fire chief.

Nacogdoches Fire Chief David Fiero has resigned after only six months. City Manager Jim Jeffers says Fiero resigned to accept an incident management position with the Federal Urban Search and Rescue Team.

As the search for a new chief begins, once again, Assistant Fire Chief Ronnie Kimbrough, along with three other deputy fire chiefs, will oversee the day to day functions of the fire department.
