The suspect in another East Texas chase remains in jail after shooting at officers. It all happened Sunday afternoon. That is when DPS troopers tried to stop 26-year-old Matthew Hibbard for a traffic violation on County Road 434 in Nacogdoches County. That is when the pursuit began.
A DPS team continued to follow Hibbard. At one point, Hibbard stopped his truck pointed a rifle and shot at one of the troopers. The trooper ran off the road and hit a fence, but was not injured. That is when other officers got involved. Spikes were successfully thrown, and the chase ended at Martin Luther King and Shawnee Street in Nacogdoches.
