One Dead In Longview Shooting

A heated argument gets out of control in Longview leaving one man dead and two suspects in custody. Police say as many as eight shots were fired in a Longview parking lot. It happened just before 2:00 p.m. in the parking lot of the High Plaza Center on High Street and Mobberly Avenue. Investigators say the victim and two other men were involved in an intense argument at a business in the center.

Police say the two suspects shot the victim at least four times in the chest and once in the head. Paramedics administered CPR, but the victim was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The two suspects surrendered to police when they arrived on the scene.  Investigators say the argument was over a girlfriend.

"When we arrived, we found on individual lying in the parking lot. There was another individual that was taken into custody by officers on the scene," said Sergeant Shawn Pendleton of the Longview police.

The victim's name is not being released until family is notified. The suspects will be formally charged tomorrow.
