Accused Bank Robber's Trial Reset Again

An accused Lukfin bank robber now has a new trial date.

Michael Ellis was supposed to go on trial March 20th in Beaumont, but the date has been moved to May 15th.

The 40-year-old man is accused of robbing the Hibernia Bank on South First Street in Lufkin nearly two years ago. Bank tellers said he had a note demanding money and claiming he had a bomb.

Police arrested Ellis just eight minutes after the robbery. If convicted, he faces up to 25 years in prison.
