Reward Offered For Crime Tips

by Donna McCollum

The new courthouse annex in Nacogdoches has already been hit with vandalism. Nacogdoches County elected officials are not taking the vandalism lightly. Four windows were used as pellet gun target practice last week. It will cost about $1900 to replace those windows.

Commissioners authorized two $500 donations to Nacogdoches Crimestoppers and the high school Crimestoppers in hopes of catching the vandals. Nacogdoches County Judge Sue Kennedy said, "We would like to see that added to what they currently provide direct for this cause. Obviously, if it doesn't pay off they can keep it as a donation to continue their activity in helping us fight crime in Nacogdoches County."

The Crimestoppers board will decide if the donation will be offered in addition to the $1,000 reward normally given. Anyone with information about the courthouse annex vandalism should call Crimestoppers at 560-INFO.
