The City of Lufkin is auctioning off vehicles and equipment it no longer needs. More than 80 items will be sold online through noon on April 17th.
The auction includes 20 pickup trucks, 11 cars, and a van from the city's fleet. A number of seized trucks, SUVs, cars, and motorcycles are also up for sale.
City Manager Paul Parker said, "We've recently done a survey of all of our needs and we're eliminating quite a few vehicles from our fleet. They're older vehicles in most cases. Some of them are seized vehicles from the police department."
A viewing of the items up for sale will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the sewer plant in Lufkin. Bids can be placed online at www.renebates.com.
