East Texas Church Honors Firefighters

By Larry Little

An East Texas church set aside Sunday to thank Lufkin firefighters for making their dreams of having a new sanctuary possible.

Two months ago the Eastview United Pentecostal Church caught fire. Members looked on as firefighters did everything they could to save the church which was being remodeled. Firefighters were able to save the church. Sunday afternoon the church set aside the day to honor Lufkin Firefighters for their fast response. "We are here able to enjoy these services because of your service to our community and from Eastview we want to say thank you," says Pastor David Hunt .

The newly remodeled church is a dream come true for the Eastview Pentecostal Church. It is a dream that was nearly destroyed by fire, but members say once again they were victorious because of their faith.
