Jury Picked for Former Deputy's Trial

A jury has now been picked for the trial of a former Trinity County sheriff's deputy. This is the second trial for Marshall Scott Taylor.

Taylor is accused of beating an inmate while working at the Trinity County Sheriff's Office. He is now a deputy constable in Trinity County.

Taylor was tried last summer, accused of nearly knocking a prisoner unconscious. The four-day trial ended with a hung jury.

If convicted of official oppression, Taylor faces two years in jail and permanent loss of his peace officer's license.
