Controlled Burn in Trinity County Brings Smoke and Ash to Angelina Residents

Some residents in Angelina County thought rain was headed their way Tuesday afternoon. A heavy, thick haze could be seen from the East. But, they weren't rain clouds. Officials in Trinity County said that the U.S. Forest Service was conducting a controlled burn. Dispatchers at the Angelina County Sheriff's Department said that they had received a call from Trinity County, telling them that the smoke from the burn was heading their way.

At the KTRE studios in Pollock, ash could actually be seen floating to the ground due to the burn.
