Man Killed in Wreck was not Drunk

A Lufkin man killed in a car wreck earlier this year had not been drinking before the crash.

Blood alcohol results for 33-year-old Gabriel Bass came back negative. Troopers are now waiting for results of a drug screening.

Bass was headed west on 2021 and failed to yield the right of way while crossing 59. He died at the scene after a pickup headed south on 59 broadsided his car.

The truck driver lost his arm in the wreck.
