In The Kitchen: Aunt Sister's Tea Cakes


Baking Instructions

  • Open box, and Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Open mix and put in a bowl.
  • Add 1 egg and 1 tablespoon water for each 13.5oz packet of mix.
  • Blend thoroughly with electric mixer or fork,
    (Mixture will be stiff).
  • Form a ball on floured surface. (No flour? Use a small amount of vegetable oil.)
  • Roll out to 1/4" thick with a rolling pin, smooth glass, or jar.
  • Cut out 3" round cookies with cookie cutter or inverted glass.
  • Place on ungreased cookie sheet 2" apart.
  • Bake for 10 minutes, Teacakes will slightly brown on edges. Do not overbake for best texture.
  • 10. Eat and Enjoy!

    **Dough may be rolled, frozen and sliced to bake.
    **Extra teacakes may be frozen to enjoyed later.
    **To cook teacakes in a convection oven, cook at 375 degrees for 8 minutes.
