Lufkin High School Honored Its Most Outstanding Students

Lufkin High School honored some of its most outstanding students Tuesday. Faculty and staff had a reception in honor of their four National Merit Scholars.

The school recognized a finalist and three commended scholars for academic excellence on the PSAT. They took the test during their junior year and scored some pretty impressive marks.

Daniel Strinden said, "The PSAT serves as the benchmark that they go by and it's usually the top 99th percentile" that become National Merit Scholars.

Strinden is Lufkin High School's National Merit Finalist. The commended scholars are Megan Faver, Matthew Mooman, and Samuel Hughes.
