Lufkin Voters Elect New Mayor

It is a new day for the city of Lufkin.

Saturday evening voters said it is time for new direction in city by electing Jack Gorden as mayor. Gorden unseated the 18 year incumbent Louis Bronaugh. All three candidates, mayor Bronaugh, Gorden, and Alamo are pleased with the results because they want what is best for Lufkin.

Bronaugh ran on a campaign platform of being experienced and respected and although it didn't help him keep his job. His successor says he wouldn't dare overlook what Bronaugh has done for this city of Lufkin.
