East Texans React to Border Patrol

by Jessica Cervantez

A lot of East Texans have strong opinions about the plans for increasing border patrols.

James Wagstaff, a Lufkin resident, said, "I believe the military, if there's anything illegal or criminal activity, then yes, they should be involved in that."

Leanne Casey, also believes there should be tighter security.

"We're not against immigrants being here, it's just them being here legally, we have to abide by the laws and they should too." Casey said.

Mike Casey, her husband, said, "I think it's 20-years long overdue."

Another East Texas resident, James York said, "I'm wondering, where they are all going to come from, with them being scattered all over the world like they are."
