Funeral services for Tommy Keith “Tom” Powell, 47, ofLufkin will be held Thursday, May 18, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Horace Fletcher and Bobby Baker officiating. Interment will follow in the BerryCemetery.
Mr. Powell was born October 5, 1958 in Lufkin, Texas, to Alvin Winfield and Veleta Jean (Brookshire) Powell, and died Monday, May 15, 2006 in a local hospital.
Mr. Powell was a lifetime resident of Lufkin and AngelinaCounty. He was an Eagle Scout, an MDA volunteer, and a member of the Moffett Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Powell was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Tina Powell of Lufkin; son, Brandon Edward Powell Harrison of Diboll; mother, Veleta Jean Powell of Lufkin; brother, Brian Alvin Powell of Lufkin; nephew, Nicholas Aaron Powell of Rockland; uncle and aunt, L. A. and Dorothy Moran of Lonestar; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerald and Julie Hunt of Lufkin; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Donna and Ken Williams of Leggett; and a number of aunts, uncles and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Powell; maternal grandparents, Earl and Ossie Brookshire; and paternal grandparents, John and Dossie Powell.
Pallbearers will be Robert Massingill, Wayne Christopher, Randall Graham, Larry Collier, Michael Miller and James Kemp.
Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Wallace and Darryl Gilbert.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
