The City of Lufkin honored its outgoing mayor Tuesday night. Seventy-four year-old Louis Bronaugh retired after 18 years as the town's leader. He lost the mayoral election in May to veteran banker Jack Gorden.
Bronaugh's family, friends, and colleagues honored him with a reception. Bronaugh lost the race for mayor by almost 700 votes. Revitalizing downtown Lufkin And improving the city's streets, parks, police, and fire departments are just some of his many accomplishments.
