Woman Surrendered to Authorities After Seeing Herself on TV

by Ramonica R. Jones

Lufkin police have caught up with a woman featured in a recent Crime Stoppers report on KTRE.

Eighteen-year-old Lacey Holderfield of Wells is accused of snatching a woman's purse from an office at a Lufkin hospital and then taking the woman's car from the hospital parking lot. Holderfield and another woman are then accused of trying to forge one of the victim's checks at a bank.

The other woman was caught, but Holderfield surrendered to authorities after seeing herself in the surveillance video.

Lufkin Police Lieutenant David Young said, "This is becoming more common. The more security videos that we air, the more people see themselves on TV. This is not the first time in recent history this has happened."

Holderfield is charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. More charges may be filed.
