It may be called the Black Rodeo but this rodeo has cowboys of all colors and organizers are hoping everyone will come out for a night of entertainment.
This 5th annual Black Rodeo will feature over 300 cowboys. Though the rodeo is for entertainment and education, it's for a good cause also. Canned goods collected will benefit the H.O.P.E. Center in Lufkin.
"What we try to do is educate and entertain African Americans about black cowboys and the role black cowboys played in the South and our rodeo has been real good. Now it's almost like a color rodeo. We've got all kinds of colors and all kinds of cowboys and that's what we do is go from city to city like a big family," says Frank Edwards.
