Alcohol Petition Drive is Almost Complete

An East Texas man leading the most recent campaign to make Angelina County wet has reached his goal.

Oscar Dillahunty has collected more than the required 7,000 signatures on his alcohol petition. He's still gathering the names of registered voters just to be on the safe side.

Dillahunty set up a booth at the courthouse annex in Lufkin and even took the petition across the county so people could sign up.

Dillahunty believes people are going to drink regardless of where they have to buy their alcohol. He wants Angelina County to collect some of that money and divide it among several cities.

Dillahunty needed signatures of 7,000 registered voters to get the issue on the November ballot.
