Blood Donations Improve

The Stewart Regional Blood Center in Lufkin has been busy lately. The center has had an overwhelming response since our report on the critical need for blood donations.

A critical shortage means the center has less than a day's blood supply, but since our report last Thursday, blood donations have been pouring in.

Twenty-six people gave blood last Friday. Five donors came in Saturday.

The blood center in Lufkin still has a critical need for Type-O blood. O- is known as the universal blood type because anyone can receive it.

Anyone who is at least 17-years-old, weighs at least 110 pounds, and is in good general health can give blood.
