Workforce Solutions Staffing Changes

Sources tell East Texas News a former employee at Workforce Solutions may file a discrimination lawsuit against the agency after recent staff changes eliminated her job. Maria Kassabaum, Managing Director at Workforce Solutions is speaking out about the changes. "What I did was just move resources to the centers because we had a quality assurance team and what I did was move them to assistant mangers so they could provide those services on site to the managers, " says Maria Kassabaum.

Kassabaum says the reassignment was not a step down for those employees. She believes the realignment was needed to assist East Texans who depend on services offered at Workforce Solutions.   "As a matter of fact it will impact positively because we have put more resources into centers, so hopefully we are going to be able to provide a better customer service," says Kassabaum.

Ms. Kassabaum says she knows everyone is not please with the changes but she feels she's done what best to serve deep east Texas. "I truly believe I have established a better workforce system that is going to improve the quality of service we provide to our customers everyday," says Kassabaum.

Though a lawsuit is possible Kassabaum stands by her decision. "I don't think there is going to be a negative impact anywhere," says Kassabaum.
