Brad Hlozek joined the East Texas Weather Team in March 2006 as the Weekend Meteorologist. He became KTRE's Chief Meteorologist in December of 2008, and continues to provide East Texans with an accurate, and informed weather forecast each weeknight at 5, 6, and 10pm.
A graduate of Texas A&M University in College Station, Brad received a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology in December of 2005.
While at A&M, Brad had the exciting opportunity to storm chase. Although he never saw a tornado, the experiences of observing the radar and the storm structures while out in the field, was a great teaching tool.
One of Brad's most memorable experiences so far was covering Hurricane Ike when it came through East Texas on September 13, 2008. In working around the clock, he realized that covering a hurricane was both exhilarating, and exhausting at the same time.
On a lighter note, the Easter snow event in April of 2007 was quite remarkable for East Texans considering it was the latest snowfall to ever fall in East Texas for the early part of spring. Several inches of snow fell and stuck to the ground, leading to a "White Easter" for many across the Texas Forest Country.
