Deputies Receive State Recognition

Several Nacogdoches County sheriff's deputies received high praise for a job well done. Sergeant David Crisp and deputies Brady Stanaland, Danny Kitchens and Derick Stinson have certificates of recognition from Governor Perry.

Sheriff Thomas Kerss presented the commendations for their teamwork in quickly solving the Chireno Bank Robbery in April. Kerss calls it effective team work. "Honestly, not only these four officers, but many other members of the department were involved in one degree or another from the dispatcher who firs received the call to all the investigators who followed up on the case as well," said Kerss.   Also commended by the sheriff for a job well done was dispatcher Brenda Shull who made calls that helped trace the suspects previous locations.
