The 'Miss Texas Pageant' aired over the weekend on KTRE. Both Miss East Texas and Miss Lufkin earned a spot in the top ten, but that's where their journeys in this year's competition ended. The women made quite a name for themselves in the beauty contest.
Miss Lufkin won thousands of dollars in scholarship prizes. Adrianna Nelson was also the judges' top pick in the evening gown portion of the competition.
Both Miss Lufkin and Miss East Texas are from Houston.
Eva Dickens, owner of the Miss Lufkin and Miss East Texas franchises, said, "We have to have nine contestants from the Lufkin area in order to close it to just Lufkin contestants. We have not been able to receive nine contestants from the Lufkin area, so therefore, it's mandated that we have to open it throughout the state of Texas."
