Proud Of East Texas: Will Jennings

You may not know his name but you do know his songs. East Texas native Will Jennings received his first Academy Award for "Up Where We Belong" from the movie "An Officer And A Gentleman". His next Oscar was for "My Heart Will Go On" from the multi-Oscar winning "Titantic". These songs, along with hits such as "Tears In Heaven" and "Looks Like We Made It", have garnered Jennings an impressive collection of Oscars, Emmys, Golden Globes, and the British equivelent of these top awards.

Jennings' newest recognition for his music came this summer with his induction into "The Songwriters Hall Of Fame". This top award for songwriters represents the "most beloved songs from the contemporary American songbook."
