One East Texan might have a green thumb. He has grown a giant pumpkin.
Seventy-eight-year-old Marshall Capps is happily showing off his 442 lb. pumpkin in Angelina County. The pumpkin started growing back in May. And with lots of fertilizer and chicken litter it has grown rapidly. The Lufkin native has measured the pumpkin to have a 10 foot circumference. He started growing pumpkins about four years ago. His previous record was 318 lbs.
