Alleged Murderer Arraigned

by Ramonica R. Jones

A Nacogdoches murder suspect has been arraigned on several new charges filed against him. Artemas Smith is now in jail. His bond is set at $85,000.

Smith is now charged with many offenses including burglary and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Smith was arrested July 24th for the murder of Harold Harris. Police also charged him in connection with an aggravated robbery and seven home burglaries in Nacogdoches.

Investigators believe Smith attacked a Nacogdoches woman while robbing her home a few weeks ago. They're gathering evidence and some of the stolen property in those crimes.
