It was a deadly weekend on East Texas roadways. Authorities say 48 year old Henry Ashton of Huntington died when he lost control of his Ford Escape on a curve, flipping the SUV.
It happened on North Cedar County road in Trinity County. Authorities say Ashton was ejected from the vehicle. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
A nine year old passenger in the vehicle suffered non life threating injuries. He is in a Lufkin hospital.
There was also a wreck in San Augustine county involving an ATV and a truck. Authorities say a 14 year old died when he attempted to cross U.S. Highway 96, 7 miles north of San Augustine, and was hit by a pickup towing a horse trailer.
