State Rests in Murder for Hire Trial

Testimony continued Thursday in a murder for hire trial in Nacogdoches. Jurors listened to a four-hour statement Marcia Kelly made to authorities the night her husband was murdered.

During the taped interrogation with a Texas Ranger, Kelly tearfully said she didn't remember conversations she'd had with several people about killing her husband.

Kelly also denied knowing her husband was even going to be killed. She's accused of paying several teenagers to kill James Kelly last October while he slept at their home in Cushing.

One witness testified he had been offered $10,000, a pick-up truck, and a new pair of jet skis for the man's murder.

The state rested its case Thursday. The trial is expected to end Friday.
