Lufkin Has Its First 64-Slice CT Scanner

An East Texas hospital has installed a state-of-the-art tool for cardiovascular imaging.

Woodland Heights Medical Center is the home of Lufkin's first 64-slice CT scanner. The thinner the slices, the more definitive the exam results.

The $1.2 million scanner will produce split-second high quality images. Physicians will also be able to discover heart and vascular disease before serious symptoms even appear.

The new machine can handle a weight capacity of up to 440 pounds, more than other scanners.
